Ms. Mary Ellen Lawless, MA, RN, is a Research Nurse at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is responsible for community development and programming as part of the Community Research Partnership Core for the NIH sponsored, Clinical Translational and Science Collaborative Award. Her research interests include cultural competency education training for clinical researchers and addressing the social context of hypertension management. She received her Nursing Diploma from Mercy School of Nursing in Canton Ohio; her BSN from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio and Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Ms. Lawless is a registered nurse, licensed to practice nursing in the state of Ohio; is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine, ACSM, as a cardiac exercise specialist; a member of the Ohio Nurses Association, ONA; Certified Toastmaster (CTM), Toastmaster’s International and CREC certified for human subjects protection.
