Exophytic myoma

07/21/2009

Question:

What is the treatment for exophytic myoma?

Answer:

Typically none because most exophytic fibroids don’t cause symptoms. For an exophytic fibroid that is causing symptoms, they can be treated by just removing the fibroid (in someone who chooses to keep the uterus for childbearing) or more commonly, removing the uterus. There are some medications that will shrink a fibroid, they they are usually only temporary.
