Temperature of Medicine Storage
01/22/2010 |
Question:
Is it damaging to pain medicine- tablet form–to store in car for 7-8 hours when temperatures are around or a little below freezing
Answer:
Tablets should be stored at room temperature unless otherwise indicated by the manufacturer. Humidity is also important; medications should not be stored in places subject to high humidity. Examples include bathrooms with bathtubs or showers. Typically, higher temperatures are more of a problem than lower temperatures, but without knowing the details of the medication, it would be impossible to say with 100% certainty.
