Left Front Side Kidney Pain

Question:

I am 31 years old. I had from yesterday morning left side kidney pain & I feel some swelling also. I feel problem when I walk, laugh and sitting. I meet to doctor and he gave me Ciflox-500 & Riaspasm 10mg & painadol. Is it good diagnosis for the same? I feel urinal problem. Also like feel too much pressure but very less of quantity release. Please help me as soon as possible. Thanks.

Answer:

It is hard to tell, from your description, whether the pain is actually from your kidney.  If it is caused by a kidney infection, you may also have fever, chills, and even nausea.  Feeling the pressure to empty your bladder, but having only a little urine coming out, may be signs of a bladder infection (which is not as serious as a kidney infection).  If that is the case, ciprofloxacin should make you feel better quickly.  But there are other causes of left-sided pain besides the kidney — for instance, there may be a problem with the left ovary, the back muscles, or the colon; so if your symptoms do not improve, or if you get worse, return to your doctor because other tests and imaging studies may be needed to make the correct diagnosis.  Also, do not hesitate to ask your doctor to explain what he thinks is going on with you and why he prescribed those particular meds for you.
