What’s the Difference?

01/05/2010

Question:

Can you tell me the difference between psoriasis and eczema?

Answer:

Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder of red scaly patches, often located on the knees and elbows. It can run in families, and the cause is unknown.

Eczema is a red, itchy rash that usually comes from an allergic reaction.

If you think you have either of these, you could first see your primary health provider, who if necessary can refer you to a dermatologist.
