Problem – Dark Urine and Dehydration

02/11/2010

Question:

No matter how much water I drink, my urine is yellow and my hands and my whole body in general feels dehydrated. What can I do to deal with this problem?

Answer:

I’ll need more information to be able to comment on your question.

1) When you say that your urine is yellow, is it different than the normal yellow color of urine — if so, how?  Urine may appear abnormally yellow if a person is jaundiced, or if a person is taking certain medications (such as vitamins or laxatives) that cause the color.

2) When you say that your whole body feels dehydrated, what symptoms exactly are you having?  Also, how much water (or other fluid) do you normally drink in a day?

3) How old are you, are you a male or female, do you have any medical problems, and what medications are you taking?

If you would like to write back and supply the additional information, I will be glad to try to give you a more helpful answer.
