Abscess

04/12/2010

Question:

I currently have a dental abscess. The swelling has gone down some now that I have been taking antibiotics for the last 6 days. Yesterday I noticed two white blisters on the side of my tongue. It is the same side where the abscess. Could this mean something?

Answer:

You need to have the abscessed tooth removed (extraction) or treated endodontically (root canal).  The tooth may be sharp or rough and be rubbing your tongue and/or you may be getting a yeast infection (over growth) from taking antibiotics.
