Blood Pressure After Lumpectomy

07/02/2010

Question:

How many years should I wait before blood pressure and blood test can be preformed on the arm where I had a cancer lump removed 9 years ago?

Answer:

Blood pressures can be taken immediately after a lumpectomy for cancer.  There are no restrictions.  If you had many of the lymph glands removed from under your arm, that is different.  If you had this second operation, then blood pressure should never again be taken using that arm.
