Sore throat

08/31/2009

Question:

I woke up with the right side of my throat hurting. The lymph node on that side is also swollen and hurts to touch. Looking at the back right side of my throat there were two reddish looking blisters one with some white grey looking fluid around the outside of it. Then I checked my throat an hour ago and I have a new blister looking bubble on my tonsil. Do you know what this is? I have read about sore throats and bumps but could not find a match to what my blister like bubbles look like.

Answer:

It is hard to know for sure what is going on in your throat from your description.  This could be an infection or possibly an allergic response.  If this persists or recurs often, you need to see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist.  Maybe medication will eliminate this problem but a biopsy may be indicated.
