Histoplasmosis- Can it go Away After a Month?

12/16/2010

Question:

Husband was exposed to Histoplasmosis that killed his friend and he has been sick now for a month since. We are still waiting on test results, but would like some more info while waiting…He`s had a fever for over a month ranging from 100-103.5 on and off each day. Body aches, sore joints, headaches and nightsweats. His xray shows scarring on his lungs. Tb test was neg. along with a ton of other tests, just still waiting on Histo test.

But now my husband hasnt had a fever for almost 15 hours (for the first time in over a month) – Can histoplasmosis cure itself after he`s had such strong symptoms for so long and has the lung scarring??
