Joshua Bomser has been at The Ohio State University since 2000, first in the Department of Food Science and Technology, and since 2004 in the Department of Human Nutrition. He earned his doctoral degree at the University of Illinois in the Division of Nutritional Sciences. Dr. Bomser’s research focuses on the prevention of chronic disease by non-nutritive dietary components. He has a specific interest in the role of carotenoids (lutein and zeaxanthin) in the prevention of cataract and age-related macular degeneration. He is also investigating the possible roll of soy isoflavones in the prevention of prostate cancer.
