Dr. Michael Earley is a Professor of Clinical Optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He completed both his OD and PhD training at OSU and has been a faculty member since 1990. He is the Chief of the Binocular Vision and Pediatric Services and, in clinic, primarily works with children with special needs and patients following acquired brain injury. He also directs the pediatric residency program. He teaches coursework in neuroanatomy, histology, ocular anatomy, and binocular vision and graduate coursework in visual processing.

In 1998, he was awarded OSU’s highest teaching award by the university - the Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching - and was inducted into the Academy of Teaching. In 2005, he was awarded the Advancement of Science award from the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, Int (NORA).

Dr. Earley is very involved in clinical research and has and continues to participate in many multicentered clinical research projects including Convergence Insufficiency Treatment Trial (CITT), Amblyopia Treatment Studies (ATS) and Vision in Preschoolers (VIP). He has numerous publications and lectures nationally in the area of neuroanatomy and its many clinical implications.
