• The leukotriene modifier or corticosteroid or corticosteroid-salmeterol trial
  8/1/03 – present. American Lung Association The major goal of this project of the ACRC network is to determine if asthmatics who are stable on an inhaled corticosteroid can be safely transitioned to a leukotriene modifier or to a combination of corticosteroid-salmeterol inhaler and if either of these therapies is equivalent to continued inhaled corticosteroid alone.   Role: Principle Investigator, 6/30/00-6/30/01, Merck, Inc.\ The major goal of this Phase V multi-center trial was to determine the effectiveness of 48 weeks of treatment with montelukast versus salmeterol concomitantly administered with fluticasone in people with asthma.
