What is Edwards disease?
Answer:
Edwards disease in another name for Trisomy 18, an extra eighteenth chromosome.
This is a very serious condition, with the vast majority of babies dying of the condition in the first month of life. It is considered a lethal chromosomal anomaly.
The only way it can be definitively diagnosed is by amniocentesis or another method to look at the fetus` or infant`s chromosomes.
