Hardened vein in wrist07/09/2007 |
Hello, my son had his wisdom teeth removed a couple of weeks ago. The vein in his wrist (from an IV) is now hard. Is this to be expected? Thanks.
It’s not likely anything to worry about. Most likely it is a small, superficial clot in the vein where the IV was. If it causes any discomfort, you can just apply a warm wash cloth periodically and that will help it go away on its own. More than likely it is not causing him any problems, and it should go away gradually.
