Risk to Bridge/Crowns in Root Canal02/18/2010 |
I need a root canal on one tooth (#10) that is part of a 7 teeth bridge. I was told that when doing a root canal on a crown that is part of the bridge, there is a chance the crown can shatter, resulting in the need to replace the entire bridge.This would be quite expensive, and I would like to know just how likely is this?
Thanks in advanced for any help with this.
The probability of this happening may be 25%. It depends on whether or not you had developed caries underneath the crown of #10.
