About Contraceptives After Intercourse (09/22/2008 02:00PM) |
| How would you remove a contraceptive (like cervical caps and diaphragm) after an intercourse? A diaphragm or cervical cap should NOT be removed for at least 6-8 hours AFTER having intercourse. If you are deciding about whether or not to use a diaphragm, your provider should measure you for the diaphragm so that you have the correct size, and she or he should teach you about both inserting and removing it before sending you home with it. | |

Early period & the pill (08/27/2008 11:28AM) |
| My period seems to start when I have 7 to 10 birth control pills left. With most oral contraceptives, you should expect to get a period in the last week of the pack, once you have started the inactive pills. Otherwise, you need to talk to your health care provider about a change of pills. | |

Pregnancy and birth control (07/23/2008 11:53AM) |
My gynecologist`s office told me I should be off my birth control for at least 3 months before trying to get pregnant. I looked it up, and there are no claims that getting pregnant while on birth control can cause birth defects - so what`s the deal? This is why most gynecologists suggest discontinuing hormonal contraception a few months prior to planning pregnancy. | |

Safe to take birth control continuously? (07/22/2008 01:27PM) |
| I`ve been using nuvaring for birth control and take it continuously (a new ring every 4 weeks, taking a break only every 12 or 16 weeks) for the prevention of my severe migraines. I have been on birth control for about 5 years and don`t intend to have children for another 5. Also, if the withdrawal bleeding is not a real period, what is the reason for taking the week-long break from nuvaring every 12 or 16 weeks? However, women who have migraine headaches that include neurologic symptoms (... | |

Premenstrual spotting (07/07/2008 10:53AM) |
| The past two periods that I have had since being off the pill, I have noticed some spotting(brownish) 2-3 days before the actual period begins. I did ovulate(confirmed through BBT charting, and my luteal phase was 12 days long, with spotting starting on the 10 day this last time). I was on the pill for 9 years, and before starting the pills, I didn`t have any premenstrual spotting of any kind. | |

What are the chances I`m pregnant? (07/04/2008 09:50AM) |
| Now since I am a virgin and he is NOT I am a little clueless. I am Not on birthcontrol because I am not sexually active and we didn`t use a condom, my last period was on May 27 or 28 and since I am now several days late I took a pregnancy test on June 29, it came back negative. Additionally, if your partner has been sexually active with others, he should have screening for sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. | |
