Hi, I have always had some type of breast pain prior to my menstrual cycle but this month the tenderness started about 2 weeks prior, continued throughout my period and afterwards. Breast pain on both sides can come from a variety of causes. Usually we’d want to assess what medications you are taking, if there is a history of cancer or other previous breast disease, if there are any lumps in the breasts, or if you have nipple discharge.

I do a self breast exam each month and there has not been any changes.
First of all, congratulations on taking the initiative for your health and doing a breast exam every month. It would be a good idea to look carefully at your breasts to see if there is any redness or a part of your breast that is particularly painful.

I was taking a shower yesterday and ran my hand over my breast and found what felt like a long hard cord in my right breast. Self breast examination is one of best things that women can do to help maintain their health. It would be rare to have a blocked milk duct two years after your finished breast feeding.

I am late on my period but then again i cant say im late cause it is irregular, my breasts are sore but past couple days i have not been feeling good and my skin feels sore at the touch basically sore!
The most common reason for missed periods (even irregular ones) and sore breasts is pregnancy. If it’s negative, then I think you need to see your provider to talk about your irregular periods and what might be causing the breast tenderness.

As a helthy 36 yr old mom of three I have always been very regular with my menstrual cycles which in the past normally include a period of about three or four days of tender breasts and irritability before menses. During this last cycle I started my period on time but am now into my 13th day and I am still having some bleeding. In addition to this, instead of breast tenderness before my cycle, i have been experiencing EXTREME tenderness since the fourth day of my period.

She started her cycle on June 18th, but then didn`t start again until July 25th (a week late). She said that this last cycle was normal and lasted about 6 days (with breast enlargement and cramping like normal) and also that she thinks she had a normal fertile period in the middle of her cycle.

I am 22 and am trying to concieve. It usually starts about 5-6 days before the first day of red blood. It starts extremely light yellowy/brown (2days) and gradually gets darker until my period.

Could the cyst still be there and if it is still there, when I get the laparoscopy, will they remove the cyst at that time? Because no one knows what causes most short-lived pain, doctors will often attribute it to a "ruptured cyst", even though cysts rupture every month without pain. Depending on a woman's age and the type of cyst, such surgery could involve simply looking, removing the cyst, or removing the whole ovary.

One week ago I started very light bleeding, a week early, but it has been known to happen. It have also had headaches, back pain, moderate breast tenderness, brest swelling (almost a whole cup size bigger), bloating, and I am tired all of the time. The symptoms that you describe, however (breast tenderness, swelling, fatigue, etc.), are also symptoms of pregnancy, so it would be particularly important to check a pregnancy test.
