Endometriosis/ ectopic pregnancy (08/09/2004 08:41AM)
Endometriosis can be a cause of back pain. There are many other non-gynecologic causes of back pain, and they should be considered before attributing all the pain to your previous history of endometriosis. If your pain is from endometriosis, it would improve with pregnancy, so that should be your primary focus.

3 day period (12/13/2007 01:11PM)
At the same time that the tissue in the uterus bleeds and causes a period, this tissue can also bleed inside of you, causing very painful periods and internal inflammation that can lead to scarring or adhesions (organs being stuck together).   Endometriosis does not cause your periods to be light or irregular.

Endometriosis can cause difficulty getting pregnant, but this is usually due to the tubes getting inflamed and sticking to other structures.

Endometriosis in the Lungs? (09/30/2003 11:30AM)
My question is can endometriosis spread to the lungs and would it look like "fluid in the lungs" on xrays and CT scans? If you have symptoms consistent with pneumonia and have x-ray findings consistent with this, then pulmonary endometriosis is very unlikely. One of the unique characteristics is that the x-ray findings will change during the cycle as the endometriosis responds to the changing hormones.

Age and untreated endometriosis (07/20/2007 10:49AM)

I was wondering if letting endometriosis go untreated could cause any harm? This is due to heavy bleeding and cramps and quite a lot of rectal bleeding throughout my period. Endometriosis rarely causes rectal bleeding, but it can be a cause.

Endometriosis .. or what??!! (03/22/2006 04:13PM)
I`ve never had painful periods or heavy bleeding until the doctors put me on birth control to try and shrink the cyst. It was shrinking quite a bit and went from 8cm x 8cm to 5cm x 5cm in 3 months but stopped there. Endometriosis (EM) is a condition where the lining of the uterus is growing outside the uterus, in the pelvic cavity.

Endometriosis (06/26/2003 04:16PM)
I had a laperoscopy done to remove te cyst and they found a "fair" amount of endometriosis. They have put me on lupron for six months along with a birth control pill. The treatment should not negatively effect your chances of getting pregnant, only the endometriosis can.
