Microinfarcts
04/09/2007 |
Question:
Can you explain this and what may or may not be done to prevent this and/or make it better in a person who has been diagnosed with this. My mother had an MRI and was told that she has these on her brain.
Answer:
“Microinfarcts” is another term that typically refers to white matter changes or periventricular white matter changes or leukoariosis. I have written extensively in previous answers about the significance of white matter changes seen on imaging. Please refer to these answers.
