Carotidynia with mouth/tongue numbness
11/23/2009 |
Question:
My PCP has diagnosed my neck pain as carotidynia; this is the second bout in six months. This time, however, my mouth and lips are numb, like I`ve been dosed with Novacaine. I`ve also had an ear ache. This only affects my right side. Are these symptoms connected, or do I need to find a new doctor?
Answer:
Given the numbness, it is prudent to get a second opinion with a neurologist.
