Can Prempo be taken with Phyto Estrogen? Does the Phyto have the same ingredients? Why would my Doctor prescribe both together?
It is unclear to me if you are referring to a brand name product called "Phyto-Estrogen" or phytoestrogens in general. As a plant category, phytoestrogens have a very weak estrogenic effect. They are thought to work by binding to the estrogen receptor. Thus, they would be competing with Prempro for the receptor thereby potentially reducing the effectiveness of the Prempro.
